Not so much of a Series Thread this time, more like a Mini-Series Thread (hmm, that sounds strangely familiar...). But we get two games against the Angels at home before the long journey down to Anaheim for two more games @ the Big A.
And what a time for us to meet the 40-39, third-place Angels: the Dodgers are absolutely mashing. The Dodgers have won 10 straight games (and 16 of their last 17), and have at least one HR in 17 consecutive games, tying a Los Angeles franchise record (total franchise record is 24 consecutive games, Brooklyn 1956). The Angels, meanwhile, are starting a pitcher Monday night who has seen his team lose each of his last 10 starts. (To be fair, we are starting Blister Boy tonight, so all bets are off.)
Oh, and Mike Trout is out, on the 10-day DL.
With a 2.5 game lead over the Diamondbacks and the best record in the NL, let's hope the mashing continues over the next two games.
Monday: Rich Hill (4-3, 4.73) vs. Ricky Nolasco (2-9, 5.23), 7p. Tuesday: Kenta Maeda (5-3, 4.62) vs. Jesse Chavez (5-7, 5.15), 7p.

Angels take the lead in the third. Hill walks the pitcher to start the inning, then a bloop single scores two.
After the top of the third Hill is walking into the dugout cussing. Ump was squeezing him. I love watching Hill cuss!
Wow that ball really carried.
Joc got fooled badly on that flyball to center to start the 4th. Hill already in trouble.
Nolasco looking good so far.
Hoping to jinx him.
I ditto that jinx. Dude is leading AL in homers given up. What the hell is wrong with him??
Well we know now what Dre's been doing with all his time off.
Hill has retired nine in a row. Let's go offense!
Oof. Freeman looked overmatched in that AB.
Not sure what Doc was thinking bringing Freeman up in that spot.
Puig'd!!
The heart of the line-up coming up in the 8th...let's see if the magic shows up.
Down to our final licks.
Hill went seven innings and only gave up 3 runs. Bats just fell asleep tonight.
Yeah but to be fair Q7, we were facing Ricky Nolasco.
(cries)
Got the company seats tonight. Mrs Quad and I are second row behind the left hand batters box. Hi SoSG peeps!
And we shook Tommy Lasorda's hand before taking our seats!
Zeroes going on here. We need a run dammit
First and second, none out, B6 and the game scoreless
Cards up 5-2 on snakes late
Corners with one out (Taylor flies out, utley takes third)
JocPop! 4-0 us!
Bellinger had an RBI single before Joc's bomb.
Win!!
Maeda with 7 strong innings. Morrow finished off the last two. Shutout!
