I always viewed Beltre the way most Dodger fans seem to feel about Piazza--he was the one that got away and bummed me out. Where Piazza turned out to be kind of a whiny prick, Beltre was a fascinating weirdo who could hit and was a demon at third base. Ah, what could have been. Really happy for him. The Rangers really did a great job with the ceremonial stuff.
I guess the only consolation about Beltre is that Seattle failed to lock him up too.
