That's because the ones making the decisions have no brains. Colletti is a goddamned coward for not saying who would get playing time, so that Joe Torre could do whatever the hell he felt like, which has nothing to do with intelligent baseball analysis. So when we don't make the playoffs and don't have a third baseman, Colletti blames Torre, possibly firing him, interviews Frank Robinson, and McCourt (hopefully) fires him in time to start all over. Just hope McCourt doesn't hire Steve Phillips.

I'd hate to see him dull. And I can't believe that both Jones and Pierre will be starting over Ethier, despite Torre's claims that everyone will get enough at-bats. this seems like a no-brainer to everyone in the world, except the ones who make the decisions.
