Imagine living in a village when Frankenstein comes out. Everyone grabs their pitchforks and torches and attacks. Now imagine every week, Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, the Wolfman, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and other monsters coming out every week. It gets to the point where you just give up. Plaschke is the priest who can't understand how no one cares that the monsters keep coming.

I think there is a feeling (although possibly very incorrect) that even with a low level of testing and some guys getting caught that the game today has gotten a lot cleaner and what they are seeing on the field is the real thing (Mets fans were pretty impressed with Manny's opposite-field post-steroids poke)
