He better make a team that can make the playoffs.

I don't mean to harp on the point, but i'll just say that reports have McCourt doing the Manny deal in the first place.

As far as Blake's production goes, he was well behind Loney and Kemp in postseason OPS, and he hit .150 down the stretch.

As far as trading Santana goes, it's never justifable to trade a prospect just because he's blocked. By that logic, it would have been okay to trade Ryan Howard for Casey Blake and some other piece just because he was blocked by Jim Thome. If the Dodger sign Manny, do I want to trade Andrew Lambo for Jack Wilson just because he's completely blocked? No.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36360371.post-3594545163233504962008-10-16T18:39:00.000-07:002008-10-16T18:39:00.000-07:00Well I'm saying that he didn't have many other opt...Well I'm saying that he didn't have many other options than Berroa, and we did make the playoffs did we not? I really don't have a problem with him giving up a catching prospect seeing as we have a guy who should be behind the plate for a few more years. It's McCourt's fault that they had to give up the extra prospect to get Blake because he wouldn't pay his salary.

I have little doubt in my mind that Ng and White would be better GMs, but look who was most productive in the NLCS. It was Manny and Casey. I know Manny was dropped in our lap but you have to give him some credit for the Blake trade.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11300757846696417887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36360371.post-4429663911960532782008-10-16T15:33:00.000-07:002008-10-16T15:33:00.000-07:00Joey-Berroa was a great story, but he's a backup a...Joey-Berroa was a great story, but he's a backup at best. Ozuna did nothing. He got rid of Loaiza who he picked up for 8 million or whatever as it is. And he still gave up two top 5 prospects for Casey Blake who they now have to spend money on or is gone.

To suggest the Dodgers should let two superior options in Ng and White potentially go elsewhere so that Brian Sabean's clone can continue to sign guys with great work ethic and heart makes me want to lynch myself with a really long pube.

I would continue, but i'm sure you guys know what I would say. :oAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36360371.post-14221816824376385532008-10-16T15:10:00.000-07:002008-10-16T15:10:00.000-07:00I think if we're able to dumb Andruw or Pierre's s...I think if we're able to dumb Andruw or Pierre's salary that will increase the chances of Manny wearing blue next year. It seemed like we had a few chances to get to Cole early in the game since it took him a few innings to settle in, but no one did.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11300757846696417887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36360371.post-61111356894291542952008-10-16T15:00:00.000-07:002008-10-16T15:00:00.000-07:00First task: Sign manny. He got rid of Loaiza and I think the Blake trade was solid. We need continuity in the organization and having a new GM every 3-4 years will not give us that.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11300757846696417887noreply@blogger.com
